Music Ministries
Music is an important aspect of worship at LPC, enjoying a rich history of musically talented leadership.Welcome! Jessica Wander, Director of Music

Hello everyone! As the new Director of Music I'd like to introduce myself, and invite you to join one of the wonderful musical groups here at LPC. I've been an official member of the church for only a few months now, but I've been at-tending services here for a few years - when I haven't been visiting other churches with Scott as he's filled in on the organ!
I grew up in Lancaster, and went to church right around the corner at St. John's Lutheran Church - I likely sang with some of you when you joined the St. John's Chancel Choir for a few Christmas cantatas! I graduated from Lancaster High in 1998, and was very active in the music department, singing in Concert Choir, Show Choir, Women's Choir, playing cello in the Orchestra, and performing in the annual musicals. I also was involved in theatre outside of school, appearing in over 20 musicals and plays between 4th and 12th grades.
I received my Bachelor's degree from Buffalo State in 2002, and am currently there now completing my Master's in Education. When I'm finished, I will be certified at the Birth-Grade 6 level, as well as in Music. I'm very excited to finish, and am planning on graduating in May.
I'm thrilled to be here, working with such a musically-rich congregation. Again, I invite every-one to join one of the music groups here at the church. I particularly would love to see some new members in Chancel Choir - whether you sing (or sang!) in your high school choir, or just in the shower, we would be so happy to have you! Instrumentalists - I'd love for you to share your talents as well. I would be happy to help you arrange a small group for special music, or arrange for you to work with any of the choirs on a combined piece.
Adult Music
- The LPC Worship Team is a group of believers who are called together to lead the congregation in Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs during the Contemporary Service. We work together in the realm of music, but we clearly understand that worship is not about the music, it's about cultivating a heart for God. Music is merely the tool we use to serve that end. Our weekly rehearsals are held 7 pm Monday evenings in the sanctuary. Please contact Dan Bender if you are interested in the Worship Team.
- The Chancel Choir is a mainstay in music ministry for weekly traditional worship services, as well as the special services of the church year: Maundy Thursday Eve, Palm Sunday Celebration, Easter Resurrection Services, The National Day of Prayer, Christmas Eve., etc. The choir practices on Wednesday evenings a 7: 15 P.M. in the Sanctuary. Membership is open to adults and youth of at least high school age. Please contact Jessica Wander if you are interested in the Chancel Choir.
