Missions

Lancaster Presbyterian Church invests in Missions qite heavily. We do this not only through monetary funds, but much of our investment is in going yourself to serve others who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We May serve them by providing the manpower or expertise to do something for them that they cannot do.

We also go and serve those who know Christ personally, but do not have the funds to update, fix, repair or build what they need.

Some of these missions have included:

Miracle Garden Tsunami Children's Home:

Here we partnered with some other churches and a foundation to help expand John and Michelle Pandian's capacity at the home for more children. Some people from LPC have gone to India to visit the Tsunami Children's home in Coimbatore, India, including the Pastor, Youth Director, some of youth and a doctor who has used his medical skills to help the children. Below is a short excerpt from their blogspot, where there are pictures and updates about the children:

Tsunami KidsPIC311
The 2004 Tsunami created a crisis in every land it came ashore. Children became the worst hit victims of this horrific disaster. We wanted to do our part to help the smallest and most vulnerable victims of the Asian Tsunami here in India. We went and saw the devastation, we heard the stories and we reached out our hands to hold those that lost every thing. At our Miracle Garden Tsunami Children’s Home, 60 kids enjoy a new life. Share in our passion to help these little ones build a new future.

The island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines:

Many from LPC have traveled to St. Vincent in the last 5 years to be involved in minister there. We have helped update the Boys home by painting the inside and outside of a run down residence4503 for the boys. We did not just paint, but have held a cook out for the patients and their families at the hospital in Kingstown, have gone from bed to bed asking all if we could pray for them, and have shared the gospel on the streets while partnering with a church from Barrouallie. Our emphasis when going is sharing the Gospel with as many as possible. Their school system is much different than ours, in that they allow us to come in the morning the sing songs, share a testimony and message and to pray in the short assembly while all are gathered.

Pittsburgh Project:

High Schoolers and some adults are involved in Pittsburgh, PA, where they have helped the poor by relandscaping their property and helping fix up the houses where these people live.
